How Much Does Wedding Pizza Catering Cost?
The short answer
Most caterers make you fill in a form to learn what a pizza wedding costs. Here are our actual numbers: wedding pizza catering with Fornoza starts from £15 per guest, with a £1,000 minimum spend. Per-head pricing drops in tiers as your guest list grows, £14.50 at 90+ guests, £14.00 at 110+, and £13.50 at 150+.
That price includes a 12″ sourdough pizza per guest, boxes or plates, napkins, and the staffing to serve it, there are no surprise charges added later. Travel is free for the first 30 miles from our base near Reading, then £0.45 per mile, which for most weddings across Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Surrey and West London adds little or nothing to the bill.
How that compares to traditional wedding catering
A plated three-course wedding breakfast in the South East typically runs £60 to £120 per head once staffing, equipment hire and service charges land. Hog roasts and BBQs usually sit between £15 and £30. Pizza catering occupies the same relaxed, generous territory but with live theatre built in: the oven working in view of your guests, pizzas cooked to order at 400°C, and short queues, we serve up to 120 pizzas an hour.
The honest caveat: pizza is not silver service, and it isn't trying to be. Couples choose it because it suits the wedding they actually want, a barn, a marquee, a garden, a field, and because the food is genuinely good rather than banquet-adequate. Our dough cold-ferments for at least 48 hours and the toppings start with DOP San Marzano tomatoes and Fior di Latte mozzarella.
Evening service vs full wedding breakfast
The biggest cost decision is when pizza appears in your day. Evening service, fresh pizza after the first dance, is the most popular format and the most budget-friendly, since you may cater a smaller number than the full day list. For a 100-guest evening service you'd be looking at roughly £1,400 to £1,500.
A full pizza wedding breakfast replaces the formal sit-down meal entirely. For 120 guests that's around £1,680 at the 110+ tier, often a fraction of the traditional alternative, and it sets a relaxed tone that carries the whole day. Some couples also add welcome slices during the drinks reception; we'll help you plan portions so nothing is wasted.
What moves the price up or down
Up: peak summer Saturdays book earliest (enquire 3–6 months ahead), custom “wedding special” pizzas add a little depending on ingredients, and venues beyond 30 miles carry the mileage charge. Down: larger guest lists unlock the cheaper tiers, and because we're fully self-contained, no power, water or kitchen needed, you avoid the generator and equipment hire costs that catch marquee couples out with conventional caterers.
Dietary cover is included rather than extra: vegan, vegetarian and halal options are all standard (we can't do gluten-free, as ours is a flour-heavy environment and we won't pretend cross-contamination isn't real). A 20% deposit secures your date, with the balance due a week before the wedding.
